A83 Rest & Be Thankful
Region:
Scotland
The A83 at Rest and Be Thankful runs through a dramatic mountain pass in western Scotland, linking Glen Kinglas with Glen Croe and forming part of the main route between Argyll and the west coast.
This section of the A83 is commonly used by riders travelling to and from Arrochar, Inveraray and the wider Argyll area, as well as those crossing between the Highlands and the west coast. Surrounded by steep hills and open mountain scenery, it’s a route that’s often included as part of a longer Scottish ride rather than a short local trip.
BikerPics returns to the Rest and Be Thankful location several times throughout the year, photographing riders in motion as they pass a fixed photo point near the viewpoint. The open landscape and elevated setting give this location a distinctive feel, and riders often choose to make more than one pass while travelling through the area.
Images are uploaded to our website after the shoot, where you can view your gallery and order high-quality digital downloads and prints.
We ask all riders to keep it sensible at all times. No wheelies, knee-downs or risky riding.
