A708 St Mary's Loch
Region:
Scotland
The A708 at St Mary’s Loch sits in the heart of the Scottish Borders and is around 10–15 minutes from Selkirk, running through some of the most open and unspoilt scenery in the area. With the loch stretching alongside the road for long sections, it’s a location that feels remote without being difficult to reach.
This road is well known among riders for the views alone. St Mary’s Loch and the surrounding hills create a backdrop that changes constantly with the light and weather, making it a popular choice for those riding through the Borders or planning a Scotland trip by bike. It’s a route many people go out of their way to include rather than simply pass through.
We photograph from a photo point along the A708, capturing riders as they pass through this scenic stretch of road. We return to this location a many times each year, with different shoots offering slightly different conditions and backgrounds depending on the season.
After each shoot, photos are uploaded to the BikerPics website where you can browse your images and order high-quality digital downloads and prints directly online.
As always, we ask riders to enjoy the road responsibly.
