B4391 Penllyn Forest
Region:
North Wales

Heading 5
The B4391 at Penllyn Forest is a quiet upland road in Snowdonia (Eryri), North Wales, sitting just a few minutes west of Bala. Climbing away from the town and Llyn Tegid, it winds through a mix of forest and open moorland, with the kind of sweeping views and flowing bends that make this one of the most enjoyable roads in the area.
This stretch of the B4391 is regularly ridden by those travelling between Bala and the Trawsfynydd and Ffestiniog direction, often as part of a longer loop through North Wales.
With minimal traffic, undulating tarmac and wide moorland views, it's a road many riders go out of their way to include rather than simply pass through. The setting changes quickly with the weather and light, so it's worth bearing in mind it can be cooler and mistier up on the tops than down in Bala, and you'll usually share the road with the odd sheep.
This is a roadside shoot, and we photograph from a photo point along the B4391 near Penllyn Forest.
We return to this location several times throughout the year, with each shoot offering different light and conditions depending on the season.
After each shoot, photos are uploaded to the BikerPics website where you can browse your images and order high-quality digital downloads and prints directly online.
As with all our roadside shoots, we ask riders to enjoy the road responsibly.
